Here are some important things to keep in mind:

1. Not all freeze dried rose petals are the same. We use South American roses, from the same farms florists use for wedding flowers. They are not small, domestic tea roses or garden varieties. Some companies even sell chemically preserved petals, but call them freeze dried. You can easily tell the difference as those are dyed in unnatural colors or they use the term “freeze preserved”, but if you read into the description, they mention glycerin or other chemicals.

2. They are delicate, especially in winter and in dry climates. Yes, they can seem dry and fragile, however, they store best in that condition. When you add moisture to them, they become softer and more pliable. This happens naturally in humid environments. Think ahead to how the weather will be for your event, will it be warmer and more humid? If so, the petals will be softer for your event. For most uses, such as aisle borders and table decoration, they are just fine the way they are.

3. Place your full order within 1 month of your event. Freeze drying preserves their shape and color, but it doesn't last forever. When ordering on Amazon, we recommend ordering within 30 days of your event so you receive the best looking petals possible from the freshest batches. Orders on our website can be placed up to a year in advance.
